"The Railway Man" starring Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.
It is an emotionally powerful drama about memories of a British WWII POW tortured by his Japanese captors, how it affects the rest of his life and what happens when he discovers his most brutal torturer is still alive.
It was so difficult to watch, yet it was so well done I could not tear my eyes away. Hope I don't have nightmares tonight, but glad I saw it. Incredibly well acted.
I rarely watch movies about the horrors of war, particularly since marrying into a family whose lives were damaged by its after effects, but this one is excellent.
