Dang It....Missed The Visitors This Afternoon!!! BUT At Least I Was Out Having Fun Of My Own....

It has been a good day after a bit of a rocky start.  Our landline rang at 6:23am....yet another creditor looking for a fellow whose family had this phone number before it became ours over eleven years ago now.  This fellow is apparently the youngest in that family of most interesting folk and he is still giving out this phone number to various credit card companies and businesses as he racks up debts and other criminal behaviours that result in our house getting many calls every few weeks when he has pulled some new financial prank. Sigh....oh well, my husband was not sleeping that well anyway, and I recover quickly from being suddenly awakened, so all is okay.  We ate a very early breakfast this morning.  haha

After breakfast I made a banana loaf and this one actually turned out better than the last disaster loaf I made using too many bananas in an attempt to avoid having to freeze any of them for later baking use. Never again...I learned my lesson when that loaf turned into a soggy, tough, tasteless mess that ended up in the garbage after the first two or three slices were suffered through by my husband and I. Yuck!  SO thankful this one has redeemed me at least somewhat.

After lunch I went to the hospital to visit my friend who is going to be there long term.  We started off with a great visit, but unfortunately she has a new roommate who is a lovely person but a real chatterbox.  After she inserted herself into our conversation and obviously wasn't going to leave us to visit on our own,  my friend feigned exhaustion and I excused myself to go and run errands.  It is a shame, but I will try again in a few days. This new roomie will not be there for very many days.  Aiii yiiiii.....

I completed my errands rather quickly, but as I was driving away from the final place where conducting business was necessary, I realized I was right beside a clothing store that was having a clearance sale!  Oooh...

Sweaters and pants and shirts oh my......

I came home with two sweaters, a jacket sweater and a pair of pants.  That makes a total of 6 brand new items in replacement of some of the over 20 items I recently bagged up and delivered to the thrift store.  That will be all the replacement items I need, so I am still down about 2 dozen items over all from the past few years.  YAY! Slowly I am whittling down the size of my winter wardrobe, the same way I did with my spring and summer wardrobe earlier this year.  It was so much fun having a spontaneous shopping trip.  The sunshine today has given my spirits a boost after several days in a row of grey clouds and bitter winds.  YAY!! AND there are a few more days of  warmish weather on the way!  YIppee!

Unfortunately, while I was having all this personal fun, I missed a visit my husband got to have with our Syrian former next door neighbours who dropped in to show him their car that was finally purchased recently after a loooooooong search!  They stayed long enough to have tea and my husband really enjoyed seeing them. I am disappointed to have missed them and I hope they will come over again some time.
