NYC has been in a bit of an uproar since yesterday when city police shot and killed a knife wielding woman in Times Square in the afternoon hours. She had just stabbed two random individuals close by, one of whom died from her injuries. The woman, a carving knife in each hand, then started swinging both arms as she advanced upon a group of police officers as she made verbal threats. So they shot and killed her. Very, very sad for all involved.
Now compare that to a headline making the rounds the last couple of days near my own fair city: Man Charged After Assault With Frozen Pizza…..yup, you read that right. An inebriated fellow, known to local police lost his temper and smacked a fellow shopper in the head with a frozen pizza. Front page news all across our Municipal District.
Big city vs small town crime! Aiii yiiii….the word “ludicrous” does spring immediately to mind, does it not?
