Agnes Martin was born in Macklin SK in 1912 and died in 2004. She was a well known Abstract Expressionist and created many of her works here in SK. When we drove through Beacon NY on our way to the cabin during our holiday, we stopped at a huge gallery, the Dia Beacon and looked at their large permanent collection of her works. Here are a handful of my many favourites. Seeing all these large paintings hanging in one room gave the space a feeling of serenity due to the subdued colours and simple line and grid designs.
