Why Do We Have Enough Bedding for a 6 Bedroom House???

Tonight my husband and I went through the bedroom closets to get some of the bedding packed....why o why do we have so much bedding???  There are only two people in our house but we have enough bedding for a small army.  We hauled stacks of bedding out of the closets; bedding that I barely remember ever seeing before.  Even with having had a guest room in the rectory to use some of that bedding on occasion, we have far more than we would or will ever need.  Since there is no guest room in the place we will be moving to in Regina, we have even less need for ALL these linens and blankets, most of which are showing their age.

Once again I commend my husband's new found practicality:  there is a giant bag of old bedding heading straight for the garbage bins.  We don't need to save it to wrap furniture in for this move because we have hired a mover and don't need to cover tables and chairs and cabinets with our own blankets and foamies.  

Next he is tackling his huge library....that will be quite a task for him tomorrow.  However, he all ready has quite a number of books he is not taking with him.  He has some of them packed up to go to a few church libraries that have requested them, some in a box for the thrift store, a small bin of unsalvagable old books for destruction....ooh, he is in high gear this man.  Nearly all his hiking and camping gear is packed up and he has a box of clothes packed and sealed shut all ready.

God bless you honey for taking the time to make this move easier on yourself than you were able to do on any of our previous seventeen moves!

We will have to tackle the back entry and laundry area together as we both have quite a collection of "stuff" stored on the shelves and closets there...yikes, surely there will be many things we can get rid of instead of moving them.  That is the area of the rectory I dread most having to sort through and pack up.  It has been a repository for a number of items, little scatterings of lightbulbs and cleaning products and string and candles and mitts and scarves and cartons of pop and bulk sale packs of paper products and and and....aiiii yiiiii.....if we weren't sure what to do with this and that and the other thing, it all went into that room.  Drat!  It is nearly bed time.  I wish I hadn't remembered this just at this time of the night.

Better get to bed while the memory of what we actually accomplished today is still fresh in my mind, before I start looking ahead to the next project that needs attention.
