Cautiously Optimistic!

My husband had a better health day yesterday after implementing some dietary protocols and taking naps when needed. Overall it was his best day in over a week, hallelujah!

His new routine is eating a small bowl of yogurt, a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter and a small glass of carbonated water when he awakes with the rumblings of an episode starting….usually between 4am and 4:30am. Shortly after ingesting his middle of the night snack he falls peacefully asleep for another three hours. As soon as he wakes up for the day he has a bagel with melted cheese and another glass of carbonated water and gets active right away. Mid morning is a short nap. A light lunch is followed an hour later by another short nap. After dinner at about 6pm he relaxes with tv or computer research, gets into bed shortly after 9pm with a peanut butter sandwich and is asleep by 10pm. Strictly enforced snack and sleep times seem to be helping. Yesterday he was able to attend the adult class at church plus the worship service, then home for a twenty minute snooze before we went for lunch at a friend’s house and an hour of watching sports on tv there. As soon as we got home he had another short nap, followed by tv time, dinner and some work on his adult class presentation for next Sunday morning. We kept the day calm and he obeyed the daily protocols that are working for him at the moment, so we pray and hope for another decent day today.  He is hoping to participate in his regular Monday morning Zoom meeting and assist me in picking up a few grocery items, but we shall see….

Every day is an adventure around here……
