Praying For My Husband's "Second Mom"

Shortly after my husband moved away from his parents' home he connected with a family in his new town of residence that were like a second family to him in the way they cared for him and loved him.  While he has not been geographically as close to them in recent years, they will always be his "other family", so it is a painful time as his "second mom" has developed very serious health issues and may not be long for this world.  Fortunately Nana has great faith to carry her through but it is a terrible struggle even in that area of her life as she battles serious cancer, congestive heart failure, a blood clot in the lung, a plethora of drug allergies and other assorted problems that make any form of cancer treatment or surgeries to relieve the other conditions impossible for her.  This morning two of her sons rushed her to hospital in the nearest city and the rest of the family is awaiting news.  She is frightened, depressed and impossible to deal with rationally as her body wages so many wars that it cannot win in the end.  Nana was a wonderful mentor to me in all things spiritual, relational and even in some of the most practical issues of daily living when I was first married. She cared for our young son as if he was one of her own grandkids and is as proud of him as she is of her actual grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Our prayer request for Nana is for peace of mind and spirit as she walks that narrow ledge between this life and the next.  Thank you..........
